There is only one thing that my mother loves more than babies, and that's her "grandbabies" so when my mother was given the opportunity to throw her next "grandbaby" a shower, she went ALL out! If any of you were able to attend John and my wedding back in 2010, you'll remember all the personal touches I obsessed over including, well, here below you'll see where I get that obsession. There wasn't a detail that mom missed. From the crafted letters in Kaiya's name, to the home-made diaper cake (she should totally sell those), to the punch jars with stickers and candy stirers, to the tulle adorned bassinet that housed my gifts, everything looked amazing.
The candy buffet was ridiculously yummy, and there wasn't an item on it that wasn't pink. She even managed to find pink malt balls (my favorite!). I'm pretty sure I ate my CURRENT weight in sweets that day.
Though the decorations were so perfect, my favorite part of the shower was, of course, the attendees. It was so lovely to see so many of the ladies in my family that I rarely get the chance to see. They came out in full force baring adorable gifts for Kaiya, and lots of baby stories to both sooth and scare the crap out of me ;) Perhaps best of all I was able to bring home little souvineers from each person. My mother outdid herself by substituting shower games (which I hate) with a "decorate a onesie" craft. Everyone that came made Kaiya a onsie and they're all so cute! I can't wait to put them on her:) I'm so impressed with the talent in my family!
I had such a wonderful time! Mom did a great job putting everything together and it made my heart sing to see so many of the wonderful ladies in my family <3
Here's some pretty pics of the party decorations:
